Girls Optional Division
 The IPDGC Optional Division allows
the gymnasts to showcase their gymnastic skill(s)
using all of the various apparatus for the women
(vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor
exercise). An All-Around category is available
to those gymnasts who compete on all 4 events within
one competition.
Our Optional Division is similar
in concept to the USA Gymnastics Level 7 division,
and we utilize the Illinois High School Association
rules with some modifications to ensure safety for
our gymnasts. We currently have 5 different
skill ability levels (Junior Bronze, Bronze, Silver,
Gold, and a High School division) that the gymnasts
compete in based upon their skill ability and score.
The groups are also divided by age within each of
those skill divisions as well.
The Optional Division season
generally begins in January, and concludes in May
with a season-ending State Meet. The 2011-2012 Competition schedule
is now available on our 'Calendar'
page. Specific meet details can be found on
the calendar (times, addresses, etc.) This section will provide the
meet results as they become available from the host team(s).
